What are the methods for testing the cleanliness of oil products? What microscope is the most suitable?

Oil cleanliness analysis (pollution degree analysis) currently has two analysis methods: 1. Laser particle size analyzer can quickly analyze the number and grade of pollutant particles in oil products. The advantages are fast speed and high efficiency, but due to It analyzes particles in liquid state, so they are easily interfered by particle dispersion technology, air bubbles and other factors. At the same time, only particle distribution diagrams can be obtained, and the shape and source of particles cannot be analyzed. 2. Microscopy, the particles in the liquid are filtered to the filter membrane with filter paper, dispersed and dried, and then photographed under a magnified microscope. The image analysis technology team is used to perform statistical analysis on the particle shape and size. The traditional microscope method can only be accurate. Analyzing the range of the field of view of a microscope is limited by the accuracy of analysis. Due to the realization of automatic microscope technology, modern microscopes can accurately collect data on the entire field of view of the filter membrane and can form a complete filter particle distribution information. The analysis accuracy has been able to fully meet the analysis requirements. At the same time, combined with microscopic analysis technology, the particle shape and source can be analyzed. The choice of microscope for microscopic particle analysis depends on the size range of the particles you are analyzing. Generally speaking, a stereo microscope can be used for particles larger than 25 microns, and a metallographic or polarized microscope can be used for particles smaller than 25 microns.
